Hi guys.. as stated in the title, I've got low gpu usage and I would really appreciate your help.

(before i get started, I'd like to mention, that english is not my first language, and sry for mistakes here and there)

Everything has been running smoothly.. then i boot up my pc today and try to play Battlefield 1 ( and this is happening to ALL games btw).
I got 15-30 fps, and this is just in the menu.. laggy and choppy. In a match i got maximum 20 fps. I usually get 100+ fps in the game...
In Asus GPU Tweak, my GPU idles at 0-2% and in game up till about 30-35% at max. Temps are normal.

Settings are still the same, I've put Nvidia Control panel to maximize the gpu for performance, and didnt change anything.

I've also had this weird sh*t happen to me 2 weeks ago.. and there i used DDU, i removed all drivers related to the gpu and reinstalled them. It didnt help. I restarted the pc several times - about 5 times aaaand voila. It all worked flawlessly.

So now, i dont want to go through that struggle again, but i have restarted the laptop several times.. 10+. And it havent helped yet.

Heres two screenshots of the sensor reads of the gpu and cpu:

I have the Asus g750JH gaming laptop with these specs:

2.4GHz (3.4 turbo) Intel Core i7-4700HQ (Haswell)
24GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM
1TB 5400rpm HDD + 256GB SSD (2x128GB)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M Graphics (4GB)
17.3" Full HD LED-Backlit Display
1920 x 1080 Native Resolution
Blu-ray Disc Player
802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0

Does anyone have any idea why? I've read many of the posts in this forum, but nothing really helped me.

Thanks in advance!

Mikkel

Solution
what motherboard do you have, edit: just re read the specs you listed
1. Open NVIDIA control panel.
2. Manage 3D settings
3. Global settings tab
4. Power Management Mode settings, select "Prefer Maximum Performance"
5. Preferred Graphic Processor settings, change from "Auto select" to "High Performance NVIDIA Processor"
also if this dosent work, disable the onboard graphics from the device manager, display adapters, look up a guide before hand.
I sometimes do, but this havent affected it ever. I basically always watch youtube videos on my second monitor.
I would be surprised that this would have anything to do with this, since all day I've been trying to play with no browser open what so ever.

Thanks for your reply. :)

from taking a look at it, I see your D3d is at 100% this is often associated with your CPU limiting it, it makes me beleive your computer may suddenly be using your CPU as the GPU for your computer, I would go into your BIOS and make sure its using your graphics card as the primary video. This can also be noticed at the graphics frequency seems to be 400mhz or around there from the pictures and 400mhz is your onboard CPU graphics base frequency.

Make sure you have the exact drivers, I would do a clean uninstall of all your current ones, Then reinstall them directly from the site, do not windows update or anything. This could be the GPU not having its full potential recognized so its using base clocks aswell. I notice this because the memory on the card is 4gb dedicated yet you only have around 500mbs of dedicated memory avaliable.

start by disabling integrated graphics in your bios.

I cant even enter my bios.. I havent entered it since... forever, and i couldnt understand why it didnt show me what keys i had to push in order to enter the bios, so i googled it and it came up with this: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1013015/

This doesnt work though?

Hold shift while you shutdown the computer, wait till its completely shutdown to take your finger off shift,
when you boot up, you should hold the f2 and power key, hold it till you see the bios screen, if you cant, you may have to redo it again, this time when starting up hold the function key and f2.
