it's been around 1 or 2 weeks by now, i suddenly started having low performance in games, Rainbow six siege is the best example, i used to play around 130+ FPS, but suddenly i went to 45-60 FPS, forcing me to play windowed to be able to play; reinstalling geforce experience and the driver improved the performance, R6 was running 80 FPS but not stable, I tried setting to prefer max performance, didn't work too, reducing graphics didn't help too; I believe it's the graphics card because i noticed the GPU is being a lot less used on fullscreen, the temps seem to be normal.

my setup:
windows 10 pro
cpu: i7 6700k
gpu: ASUS GTX 1080 ti
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A
the setup is pretty new, got it this year

i tried:
reinstalling geforce experience and the driver
setting power management to max performance
reducing graphics quality in the games

thanks

It can be if the system is thermally throttling.
This leads us to the next issue, what are the temps of the CPU while you are gaming?

i will check it with open hardware monitor

well got some screeshots of right after restarting:

and a while after restarting

i noticed the temps were going up an down right after restarting and then went low after a while
gonna see gaming now

Those temps so far seem reasonable actually, I don't think it's throttling right now, gaming or higher stress may change that. A cheap easy way to test it to remove the side panel from your rig and get it some more cool air and view the result change.

BF6? Do you mean R6 or BF2? Probably R6 since you mentioned steam

yeah, spent the whole day playing GTA V and noticed the FPS slowly drops, i was over 100 when started and by the end of the day i was around 45-60
and now i played some BF2 and went for GTA V and the fps went down too

it's like the computer gets slowly tired and bf2 pushes it too far

I will try to monitor my CPU during a whole day of GTA V and try to take screenshots

Damn I just can't find what is lowering the performance
