I've been facing a persistent issue with my gaming PC, and despite several attempts to resolve it, the problem persists. Here are the details of my system:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-10100F
  • Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H410M-K
  • GPU: RTX 2070 SUPER
  • RAM: 1x 8GB Corsair Vengeance 2666MHz + 1x 8GB Crucial 2666MHz
  • PSU: Corsair RM750e
  • HDD: 1x 2TB + 1x 1TB
  • SSD: 1x 150GB + 1x 250GB
The problem occurs specifically during GPU-intensive gaming sessions with the RTX 2070 SUPER. After approximately 5 minutes, the PC shuts down abruptly. Upon checking the Event Viewer, I consistently find a Kernel Power 41 error.

Here's what I've done so far:

  1. Tested RAM with one stick at a time, and the issue persists.
  2. Initially had a Be Quiet System Power 9 600W PSU, upgraded to EVGA 750W BR, and finally to Corsair RM750e, but the problem persists.
  3. Ran stress tests using Furmark with HW Monitor to check temperatures. RTX 2070 SUPER maintains around 66°C at max load, ruling out overheating.
  4. Downgraded GPU to GTX 1650, and the issue is less common. It only occurs in situations where the room gets too hot during gaming or if the heating is on.
I've been dealing with this problem for over a year and would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions to help resolve this frustrating issue.

Take the side panel of the case......test.
If no help point a small table fan at the innards.....test.

without the side panel there is no difference I get the same issue, with the RTX 2070 super and the fan I can run games for an extra 5 mins before getting the same issue but with the gtx1650 I do not face the shut down with the fan

So far sounds like a power/heat issue.
The 2070 is 200w+ and the 1650 is 75w.
Just to get it out of the mix make sure you have the proper bios and mobo drivers.

yeah there seems to be a new update for my motherboard but at this time i can not do it, i'll reply back when ve done it

Ok that's good.

Perhaps you have already done this.
With the 2070 installed uninstall the drivers using ddu then install the proper drivers and test.
i have tried it once its been a few months now so i will try it tomorrow
