Question Suddenly Getting "No signal" on Bravia ARC Input

I have a Bravia XR A95L and I have a Windows PC connected to the ARC HDMI.

This worked ok for almost a year until today when the TV suddenly started giving "No signal" on this input.

The PC will output to the TV during startup and even while Windows is loading, but once it gets to the screen the TV shows "No signal". If I connect the PC to HDMI 1 it displays fine, but not on HDMI 3 / ARC, so I know it's not the PC.

I tried powering off the TV and disconnecting all HDMI inputs, discharging the TV by holding the power button, and reverting but the issue remains. I also tried resetting the TV, but that also didn't work. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Perhaps you could describe your total entertainment system setup and what you are trying to achieve. The ARC output on a TV, meaning the Audio Return Channel, is designed to output the TV's sound to an external device, usually a sound system, audio receiver, sound bar, etc. So connecting a PC to the HDMI 1 input would be the normal correct connection. Its not clear what you are trying to achieve by connecting the PC to the ARC output unless you intend for the PC to be your audio playback device. If it were an eARC input that would be expected to work but you only have an ARC output connection so its not clear why you would expect it to work when connected to the PC.

I appreciate your response and attempt to help, but I did make it clear that this setup worked previously for nearly a year. The TV has eARC and that's what I'm attempting to use, I just failed to mention the "e" prefix. But I can see how my post was confusing to those who understand the difference between "ARC" and "eARC" (I didn't).

I just managed to solve this by going into Google TV settings for external inputs and turning off "VRR" for this input. I have no idea how that got enabled in the first place, but I'm glad to finally have this issue resolved.

I also want to make a comment about how horrendous this device's UX is all around, and the ridiculous privacy policy and terms of service you have to agree to to simply use it. I'm a software engineer so I already never connect any "smart" device to my home network unless it's absolutely necessary, but the things that Sony says they will collect from users that they have to agree to to simply use the TV is actually disgusting. I guess this is just a reminder to everyone to NEVER connect these TVs to the internet. The only redeeming quality of this TV is the image quality.
