Hi, I just bought a new HP Probook 440 G4 with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed. At first I have no problem accessing my NTFS external hard drive (Seagate brand), but after around 1 week of usage, earlier today I have access denied error when I tried to open my Seagate hard drive. I didn't feel that I made any changes to my laptop (was just using it normally to work).

I tried to plug in my hard drive to my friend's laptop (Windows 8) and it was detected and working fine. I can open the files inside it. I also tried to plug in my friend's external hard drive to my HP Probook and I'm also getting access denied error.

I'm not a tech savvy person, so can any of you please kindly give suggestion what I should do to be able to access external hard drive again on my laptop. You can ask me some more information if you need to know more and I will try to give as much as information as I can.

Thanks before hand.

It is connected by unpowered USB Hub directly into the laptop. I have tried different usb ports and the result is the same. Just now I tried to connect an FAT Sandisk USB, and it shows the message "you have been denied permission to access this folder".
