hi guys, basically one day i had a look at task manager and saw that i had 60% ram usage pretty much idling ( i have 8gb and 5 was being used) i usually have about the same usage while playing bf4 and less than 40% whilst idling, so whats happened? in game on bf4 my ram usage increases now to 80%+ when looking into the programs on task manager i noticed that the processes running do not add up to 5gb of memory- they barely add up to 2!!
what has happened? i dont think i changed anything or downloaded anything lately...... it just happened

Solution
Well in windows 7 for example.
In the search option box.
You type : msconfig

Run the program, and in the window that opens up click on the boot tab.
Bellow it there is an advanced option button. click on it.
A new box will open, there should be a tick box that says maximum memory.
It should be ticked and a maximum amount of memory windows can use for it`s self can be set.

So say you had 8gb, then you would set the maximum amount windows could use to 4096 or 4gb. The page file value would be smaller for windows. and you would have about 3.5gb of free system memory to run other programs.

So it would work out 50% more or less memory usage by windows.
The settings will only take effect on the next restart and loading of the OS.

Solution
well i already have ccleaner and it didnt seem to work, however i had limited my pagefile to 18gb ( i say limited) as i was told it was supposed to be about 2x my ram. so i decided to let my system manage it and am going to see if that helps, but thanks for the help!!
