Suggest a phone?

Hi, my contract at Three is ending soon, and I would like a recommendation for a phone upgrade.
First, I do not take pictures that much, and do not take part in any social media sites currently. So I don't worry about the camera too much
I however enjoy surfing around the internet, playing games and watching videos, for this reason I would like the screen size to be at least 4.7 inch.
I would like to be able to carry this phone in my pocket comfortably, so I don't really like the idea of getting a phablet sized phone like the galaxy note series.

Update 1: Hi, after a bit more of surfing for interesting phone, I came across the samsung galaxy alpha.
I am quite intrigued by it. To me, it seems like a beauitful device, the only downside being it spec and maybe its price.
So now, I am primarly thinking on either Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Sony Xperia z3 compact, deciding the i rather like a mid-sized phone.
Now, I know that the Sony Z3C seems to have a huge fanbase, but please do take into consideration that I do not take pictures very often and not a power user. To me, the Samsung phone looks years ahead of the Sony phone, which looks kinda dull to me. Is there any reason people like the sony phone alot other than its spec and battery?

That phone does certainly interest me.
In fact, the main two phones I'm currently deciding between is HTC One m8 and the Xperia Z3 compact.

well other than the fact the Xperia Z4 has leaked specs and it is expected to be announced @ September maybe even way B4

the M8 has awesome External Speakers (good for games) a good Screen but huge bezels to support the speakers

the Xperia Z3/Z3C have smaller bezels and speakers are almost as good they arent as loud maybe 1-3DB quiter however they are very clear plus the phone is waterproof

the Xperia Z4 wont have a charger port cover ( it will be nano coated so no need to cover it like the M4 Aqua ) so u only need 1 flap for SD card/Sim card if u plan on waiting a bit wait for the Z4 it will be a good overall phone

I really want the Moto x but its not available for contract at three or even any of the other companies I've seen. M8 possible, and I shall look into the g2 and nexus 5!

ill get the Z3 or Z3C coz u can use the phone in the shower has the best audio on par with the M8 i really cant tell which is better but i prefer

Sony coz of clear audio+ when using earphones it makes a difference it also has a 2 day battery looks beautiful/slim and has 71% screen to body ratio

which is good for a stereo speaker phone certainly better than the M8

Sorry, for now i think I'd rather get a 'normal' sized phone (over 4 inch but under 5 inch).

If you're looking for solid upgrades that aren't big phones, the aforementioned Galaxy Alpha and Z3 Compact are most definitely two of your highest caliber options.

Another really solid phone to consider would be the Moto X (2014). It's a modest phone with pretty decent specifications, and timely Android updates if you're not into rooting. The phone's battery could definitely be a little better, but it's something I highly recommend for someone trying to do basic stuff like web surfing and media consumption.

P.S: The S6 is also around the corner and at a really comfortable, non-hand gymnastics size. 😉 You can preorder that now too if you're about out of contract.

The Moto X was a phone which at first I really wanted, and the moto maker sounds so cool. Unfortunately, I dont see any uk carrier with a contract that offers the moto x 🙁
As for the S6, i'd say that since I'm not a power user, it might be too much for me to handle xD But someone I know is getting the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge version, so ill get a look at it later

well the z3 compact is not bad,but its me having issues to suggest sony for phones,dunno i never liked their lines anyway,check also g3s,htc mini versions and why not the new moto g it is great value for money but the z3 compact seems a good choice,though i would never buy from sony and blah blah😛

water proof/dual speakers/a good camera (sony makes the camera for many other smartphones) etc...

BUT tbh for me it is either a Xperia phone with a custom ROM +walkman app etc.. or a Nexus i prefer to get my updates asap

What custom rom for the xperia phone do you suggest? Cyanogenmod?
Also, does installing the cyanogenmod remove the phone ability for PS4 remote play?
