Hi all ,
Today, I installed Windows 10 alongside my Windows 7 (dual boot). On Windows 7, I have a free version of Bitdefender and premium Malwarebytes.
Could you please suggest an antivirus with high capability and low impact on system performance?
For some time, I used Avast, but it drained RAM and caused high CPU usage. . Among Avira, Norton, Eset, and Total AV, which also offer weekly or daily offline update options, which one do you recommend that is available for free?
and please if any other software that could protect more like firewall or other monitoring software, I am appreciate your help.

thank you

If the OP is asking about AV for Windows 7, Defender would not be the best option. Rather, Microsoft Security Essentials would be the better option, as it uses the same definitions as Defender on W10-11. It still works on Windows 7, but who knows how long that will continue. As long as it does, that's all you need.

Also, I second the part about intact brain cells. If you go to dangerous sites, click on everything you see, open any and all emails, etc, you deserve what you get.

Windows defender. It comes with windows, is fairly lightweight, and has frequent security patches/updates. You could pair it with the free version of malwarebytes for more focused scans and grab a browser extension like uBlock Origin (while it's still available), but if you're not hanging out on sketchy sites, then windows defender will work great.
