Question Suggestion on a Prebuilt please

Hi All,

My PC is getting long in the tooth and I don't think I really have it in me to want to build another. Currently have a i5-6600K 3.5Ghz, 48 Gigs of Memory and a GTX970 GPU. Built it myself a LOOONG time ago with some memory upgrades here and there, but really need to upgrade.

Going to be using the PC primarily for gaming/internet (not FPS, more likely stuff like diablo 4, Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield and whenever the New Elder Scrolls comes out). I'd like something that can possible last as long as this bad boy has (I think I'm at 8 years now) technology wise. Have a rough budget of like 2k, could go over a bit but anything over 2.5k is a no go.

I'm REALLY new to the prebuilt world (have always built my own) and after spending some time looking at the options....well...there is just a ton out there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

What is your monitor resolution or is a monitor to be included in the budget?

Right now have a HP FHD Monitor, so basically 1080P with a 75Mhz refresh rate. As of now plan on still using it. Still looking to see if upgrading to a 1440P is something doable/worth it with the new setup...but yeah right now probably sticking with what I have

For less than $2500 we can get you into a solid build including a new 1440P monitor. What I would like to suggest after seeing all the nightmare threads on here regarding prebuilts is if that you aren't comfortable building it yourself that you order the components and take them down to a local mom & pops PC / laptop repair shop and have them build it for you for a small fee. This way you know exactly what you're getting.

I know there are a couple mom and pop places in and around my town, would have to look closer into them. I know there is a Microcenter pretty nearby as well (I think Paterson, NJ)...in my original search I know for a fee they will put together a PC for you (buying parts from them of course)

Microcenter is loading super slow for me atm so I'm posting this to give you an idea. This gpu is super overkill tbh but the 4070 12GB non Ti which will be less expensive and powered by a less expensive 750W psu won't be released until this April. Add about $25 to this build for an RGB case & cpu cooler if you're into the RGB look. btw a nice 27" 1440P HDR IPS G-Sync Compatible 170hz gaming monitor can be had for $300.
