Suggestions for a new Android tablet

I am looking to buy a new Android tablet as a gift, and I need to do it in the following 2 weeks. Could you please suggest to me some good options? I am not in touch with this area and I don't know what good tablets came out this year. I am also looking for prices smaller than that of an iPad Air 2.
