With a bunch of new hardware rumored for release in the new year, I'm planning on doing a big upgrade. I'm thinking I might get a new case too, but I can't see to find one with a design I like! Do you guys have any suggestions?
I want something that says "gamer", in other words, tacky as all get-out, like the kinda cases Alienware is famous for. Problem is, like 99% of the cases I've found have been basically black boxes! These are boring! Isn't there something a bit more flashy and exotic?
In terms of hardware requirements, I currently have a very large case. But with hardware becoming smaller and more efficient, this probably isn't necessary anymore. I think for the next upgrade, I won't be using SLI so that reduces the necessity for a large case. I would also like a window on the case, hardware these days has all kinds of lighting effects that I can't see in my current case.
One big issue is that I have 6 hard drives, and hard drive capacity is a big issue with mid-tower and micro cases. I plan to go M.2 for my next build, so that removes one hard drive (with the possibility for two if I get a motherboard that supports 2x M.2 drives) but this still leaves a lot of hard drives without a home.
About the closest case I've found is the Enermax Steelwing Dynamic Red case:
It has a cool design and a side window, but it's really small. It only has support for 2x 3.5 drives and one 2.5 drive though. It says you can install an additional 3.5 drive in front of the fan, but I'd like to avoid heating up my intake air...
So, any suggestions?
