Im looking to upgrade my GPU in my PC. Im using a RX 580 along with a supermicro C7Z170-OCE MOBO and an Intel I7-6700k processor with 32 GB of RAM and a Corsair RM850x PSU. I mostly do video editing with Davinci Resolve 4K resolution videos, and started dipping into best buy which offers the PNY - GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Overclocked 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 Graphics Card and XFX - SPEEDSTER SWFT210 AMD Radeon RX 7600 Core 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0.

I know its not the most up to date hardware and was wondering if either one of these would work, or if theres a better value card out there? Thanks in advance!

How old is the PSU in your build?

They would drop into your system but if you're not going to upgrade the rest of your system anytime soon, then you should avoid spending money on a concurrent GPU onto yesteryears platform.

How much are you seeing them listed as?

I'd side with the Nvidia cards as Da Vinci is optimized better towards said GPU camp.

Of the 2, the 5060ti 16gb is the more powerful card. I don’t know how each card does in your applications though.

However you may also look at the AMD rx 9060xt 16gb cards as they should be comparable to the 5060ti but at a lower price.
I was leaning towards nvidia since davinci resolve uses CUDA for acceleration. AMD has had driver issues for the longest time, too.

In a gaming only scenario then I would personally always go with the 9060xt 16gb. Due to your requirements though then the 5060ti 16gb is justifiable. You are paying a premium over the AMD card but due to the use case warranting it, then it is probably the best option.

Things to take into consideration are that your general system is older and you will be limited to a pcie gen3 x 8 interface. This affects gaming primarily although I am unsure if this will limit your applications in any way.

The PSU was bought very recently. I would say within the last year.
