First things first, I have this lovely HP Compaq LA2205wg. I was a little bit sad it didn't have an HDMI and that's why I wanted to change it to either one of these:

Samsung S22D300HY 21.5 Inch LED LCD Monitor
http://www.egprices.com/en/product/samsung-s22d300hy-21-5-inch-led-lcd-monitor-micro-labs

BenQ GW2255HM 21.5 Inch LED LCD Monitor
http://www.egprices.com/en/product/benq-gw2255hm-21-5-inch-led-lcd-monitor-compuscience

BUT!!!! After doing some research I have found out that DVI delivers the same quality as an HDMI would except that DVI doesn't carry audio signals or however you want to call it.
(I'm using a VGA right now and that's why this thread happened, I watched a video where it explained that VGA is analog so the quality of the image depends on the quality of the VGA itself, and I find the quality good but there're scratchings on the screen that is barely noticeable and also other things, I don't want that 🙁 )

So my questions are the following:

1)Nowhere does it write on my monitor it is "full hd" or "hd ready" thing, does this mean that it will not deliver an HD image if I use a DVI that is exactly the same as an HDMI? My monitor's resolution is 1680x1050. You can say it's mini full hd at 1050p.

2)If the previous question is answered positively that it'll deliver as if you were using an "HD" monitor, should I just sell this one and buy one of the 2 other monitors that I posted links for?

3)In the event that I do change the monitor to one of the previous 2, I noticed that, as it says here: http://www.amazon.com/HP-LA2205wg-Widescreen-Screen-Monitor/dp/B002RW08EC

My monitor is a 22" inch monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050, while the the 2 monitors in question are 21.5" inch monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080

My question is, shouldn't the monitor with longer inches be longer/bigger? Then why does my 22" inch monitor have a lower resolution than the 21.5" ones? Am I missing something or does resolution have nothing to do with the screen size?

Thank you so much for reading <3

BIG BIG NOTE: The PC is used for gaming and also everything actually, watching movies and that kind of stuff.

My graphics card is a Gigabyte GT 730, this model, http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5320#ov

Hopefully in the case that I don't need to buy another monitor, I'll return this one or sell it to get a GTX 750 ti (It's a long story as I just recently bought it)

Solution
1) The DVI connection will offer a clearer image than the VGA one, but at the same resolution
2) I would suggest selling your old monitor and getting one of the two you're looking at.
3) Screen size does not determine the resolution of the monitor.

Also, it would be a good idea to save up some more and get a new graphics card as the GT 730 might not perform as well as the 750Ti at 1080p

Thank you for your reply, but I don't think you understood what I meant on my first question.
What I truly meant is, is this whole "Full HD" thing just a marketing term that they use so that people buy, because from the knowledge that I have, any monitor is HD if it includes a resolution starting from 720P which is 1280x720

So from that (and what I mean), my monitor is a 1050p monitor which means it's HD, so in the end I feel like it's a marketing term...Correct me if I'm wrong

Full HD is any display that's 1920x1080. "HD Ready" would be a 720p display.
