Recently my dad purchased a Dell Optiplex 3020 (minitower) with i5 4590 (3.30 Ghz) with 8gb RAM and 500gb HDD. The PC came with a 290W PSU.

Which would be the best graphic card for gaming ? Thanks in advance :)

By no means will a 290X fit in a machine with a 290W PSU. Specially an OEM PSU that is likely to be of low quality. It probably doesn't even have the proper connectors, and it probably won't physically fit in the machine.

The safest bet is a 750 Ti in low profile. It doesn't require extra connectors, should work with even 290W, and it will fit almost any PC with expansion slots. I'd still like to get the exact model and other specifications if possible to ascertain this, though.

Would it work with the stock 290W PSU ?

It has the same specs as the link except for the 1TB HDD, mine came with 500 GB HDD.
Were these the specifications you asked for ?

Yes, i mostly needed to know what size we were dealing with 😛 That case does fit full height graphics cards, so I would still recommend the 750 Ti, but we can also consider the 950. Neither of them are particularly high power because we are quite limited by the PSU, but they should suffice for low-medium settings at 1080p.

If you're also willing to upgrade the PSU, then we could possibly put pretty much any graphics card in this machine, depending on how much you want to spend and what physically fits inside the case.

What do you think of this graphics card? Would this be sufficient ?

That should work electrically, yes. I'm not sure if you might have any issues mounting the graphics card in your computer, though. It's hard for me to say without being able to see the interior, but from the few online pictures I found it seems as though it should fit.

You might also be able to find a GTX 950 that will work. It has a bit more power, but it also costs a bit more. Be careful, though, as some GTX 950's do require extra power connectors, and we don't want to have one of those with this PSU.

I think I'll stick with the GTX 750ti.
Thanks a tonne for the replies, helped a lot ! 😀

So you are telling me that if I changed the psu and and case I can put a gtx 970 ?? Or even better

SFF have two choices for a long time a GT730 LP or GTX750Ti LP. Now we have a new kids on the block. The GT1030LP and GTX1050Ti LP(Both 2GB and 4GB Version Available). Just wait for someone to try.

I have the same pc guys. The psu is stock 290w so. I think for me 750 ti will be the best. Just wanna know if it will play newer titles like gta v on medium settings. Ram is 4 gb, i3 clocked at 3.4 ghz
