My Rig: i5-3570k and MSI 970

Girlfriend's Rig: i5-4690k and EVGA 760

We both have the same exact monitor, but the thing is her computer and games look a lot smoother than mine. We both have the same nvidia settings and don't run VSYNC at all. She hardly gets screen tearing and hickups while mine doesn't look smooth at all. I just switched our GPUs and her rig is still producing smooth video with higher FPS now with my GPU, and mine still looks like crap.

I don't know what else to try, anyone have any ideas? Maybe its my RAM? Hard drive is failing? A cable? What else can I check? Thank you for taking the time to read through this post, it's much appreciated.

Solution
It is 2 years newer than the other. They may be the same speed (Ghz) but the 4690k must be far more efficient. In the page I linked the 4690k does beat the 3570k in every way.

Overclocking will help but I have no experience in overclocking Intel CPU's so you will have to ask someone else. They are "K" CPU's so that should make it easier.

Hope that was helpfull!

Is it that much of a difference? Would overclocking my CPU help a little?
