I think the reason for the inability to do multiple upgrades on sub commanders is that it stops you from accidentally killing your economy by telling too many sub commanders to upgrade at once

other than the inability to cancel upgrades on non-mobile units, I love the game, and thus far I have had no issues that I wasn't able to get resolved pretty fast

If you are upgrading a non-mobile unit (such as a mass extractor) and decide that your economy can't handle it, you can just hit the pause button for the unit and it will stop upgrading until you un-pause it. Note that when paused, it doesn't mean it isn't producing...you're only pausing the upgrade.

This can be a good strategy for some units (again, such as a mass extractor), when you want to upgrade them, but don't want to lose their production capacity while you do so. Simply begin the upgrade, but hit pause. The unit will pause the upgrade and go back to extracting mass. Then, have an engineer (or better yet a group of them) come over and assist the unit. They will complete the upgrade for it, and you can simply remove the pause when the upgrade is finished.

It scares my vid card... sends shudders down thru its slot.

Wait wait, you're telling me that Richpls doesn't have the meanest, most beastly computer available? No 8gigs of RAM? No quad core? No 8800 Ultra in SLI?

I don't believe it 8)

My old rig can play it okay. Highest quality with 2xAA when playing single player against one AI with 1000 unit limit. Then I switch to low quality with no AA for some 4 -vs- 4 action with 750 limits. It's addictive to me since I've been playing Starcraft 64 back in the days when I was only able to afford a 64 console and couple of games. But still noticing that my dual core cpu is not fully used even when it started to lag during gameplay and the usage is 100% for core0 and 30-50% for core1.

I notice some players online are cheating and using their engineer to build a mass extractor from half way across the map! How do you do that?

Someone said earlier in thread that there is no server, so you basically tell other people where your players are. This basically makes it a client side game, so hacking it is literally a piece of cake. Might have to try some things myself now you mention this 😉

Energy hack? Speed building? Haha would be funny to see my mates face when 20 spider bots walk into his base after 5minutes play 😉

I really hope it doesn't turn into a game where everyone that plays hacks or is uber amazing and noobs or so so people don't have a chance. Starcraft has this to a point, along with diablo 2(open).

When you hack, its short term enjoyment, but after the thrill of pwning someone who doesn't cheat in a minute is gone, the gaame sucks.

Yeah i agree. I only play against my mate and some cpu anyway. Would be funny once, but its just like a practical joke tbh. Funny the first time but after that its boring. I like playing supcom, there is no point playing to cheat, just wasting your own time tbh.

Supcom is quite complex from what i've looked over quickly, so hopefully the noobs won't be hacking it. I haven't played in over a month and really don't have the time to see what can be exploited at the moment! I really wish dev's would stop releasing games that can be cheated so easily though. cough cough....FEAR, STALKER...cough cough. Just buy a carmack engine, at least then people can't fly around the room.

ya fear hacks are crazy. I played in a map with like 20 people and a small square room and messed up physics, almost makes you sick, its like a house of mirrors lol.
