Surface connects to networks but never internet access

My wife's Windows Surface was recently upgraded to Windows 10. More recently she's lost the ability to get internet. The device connects to any and all wifi networks but it's always "no internet access". Even my cellphone tethering yields the same result.

I've google this to no end and found other people with the same issue but no solutions. I've tried uninstalling the driver.

I'm about to reformat but though someone might be able to help.

You don't need to format but a fresh install of Win 10 keeping your files and programs would be my next move

Ok trying a reset now using the steps below. I'll keep you posted.


Step 1: Go to Start Windows logo, and select Settings > Update & security > Recovery.
Step 2: Under Reset this PC, select Get started and choose an option.

Edit: I don't have recovery media!!
