Question Surface Pro 3 windows 10 boot issue

I am helping a family member fix their surface pro. It boots to windows 10 but nothing on the desktop works. None of the icons are clickable and start menu is not accessible. Basically windows is not responding. So we rolled back the latest updates and rebooted the laptop. It shows installing updates and is stuck at 32% for about 15 minutes now. The laptop is not in my possession. I am helping remotely. Not sure if we need to restart and try again.

Try redownloading windows on to your pc with the option keeping all files) look up on youtube for videos on that theme i would say there is a lot of them.
