Please..this meant to compete against mobile ipad or android tablets. Stop comparing to atom or x86 full computers.

For those complaining, have u even use it before? It's a really well optimised device. The new win 8.1 comes with office outlook so stop complaining that it has none. If u compare surface with an atom tablet, u'll realise surface is much smoother..go try it if you don't believe.

App support...enough said. This can be the smoothest OS of all the tablet based OS's, but if the app support is lacking, people won't buy it. Even when you walk into a retail store, and happen to ask a sales associate, most immediately point to Android or ipad after several questions. I'll be surprised if a sales associates first recommendation is a Windows RT tablet.

My roommate, who got a Windows RT tablet as a gift loved it...for 3 days. Till he realized none of the apps he used on his ipad were on this. Immediately sold it and the old ipad and upgraded to the new ipad.

"When purchasing a new Surface RT tablet, keep in mind that the 32 GB model will only yield around 15 GB of free space to device owners"

I know you like to bag Microsoft as much as possible Kevin but you could at least mention that it is possible to install a 64 gig micro sd card and use a 2.5 external with the usb port (or any external that uses usb but the 3.5s require external power) and given that I've seen a few 1tb drives out there fairly cheap that gives the device more space then any other non windows based tabs out there on the market today.

Also you can remove the recovery partition to a thumb drive to gain a additional 4 gig of space but to be honest i haven't had the need since i can put all the videos & flac stuff on the micro sd card.
