"Thou shall exclusively buy Apple products, and when I release a new product, thou shall purchase it too, and spend long hours at Starbucks spreading the good word of Apple."

You hit it on the nail.

[citation][nom]christop[/nom]The Ipad mini is an ipod or iphone.. So it has already been done..[/citation]
Exactly. This isn't Apple trying to fill a need with a product...it appears to be just greed and me-too-ism. I'm either not used to seeing that from Apple or I've been looking in the wrong direction.

[citation][nom]killerclick[/nom]Apple stock price drop is due to all the Windows devices being released soon. (you're welcome, analysts)[/citation]
Right.
It has nothing to do with underwhelming (half of the expected) sales of iphone 5 and record sales of SG3.

give me the ios app store, in a form factor that is 100-200$ cheaper than the full ipad, and i can see people caring, its not having information out about it that hurts them.

Survey: Most Surveys Have No Bearing on Reality

I already know several iSheep that are willing to spend 3 days in line to pay $500 for an iPad mini. Even though they like the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD better than their current iPad.

[citation][nom]freggo[/nom]I am surprised that neither Samsung nor Apple have gotten the idea of an '8' inch tablet. Should be a killer in the Chinese market ![/citation]
That may be too close to 10" in size. At least 7" seems like a good size for those that feel 10" is just a bit oversized to hold.

That's because in the China market, there is already too may 8" or 8.88" me-too Android tablet clones that are 100% made in China. It is way beyond saturated. 🙂

A 1280x800 IPS 10" tablet that has 7 hours battey life sells for $199, complete with microSD, HDMI etc all sort of expansion slots. The competition is way beyond crazy over there. (But still there are people who will line up for iPad, go figure)

Yes, but in China the '8' is a very popular lucky number and I could imagine that an 8" tablet would outsell a 7 incher because of it.

"Wouldn't this basically be an ipod touch XL?"

Can we stop being stupid yet? It's like arguing that a medium shirt should be an extra large small or a mini large.
