I have 2x G.skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ sticks (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231098&cm_re=F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ-_-20-231-098-_-Product)

the sticker on the sticks says ddr2 1gb cl5 pc2-6400

installed on this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128555 (GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H LGA 1155 Intel B75)

bios shows that they are 2gig sticks at cl9 and cpuz shows some kind of kingston ram

out of curiosity, am i seeing this because im putting ddr2 sticks in a ddr3 board or is there something else going on here?

How? DDR2 won't fit DDR3 slots as the key is in a different spot , they won't click in, voltage differs etc
Is this a loaded question? to see if a dummy couldn't pick the problem? lol

i seriously have 2x sticks with that label information

i've been trying to fix a friends Frankenstein rig and the issue is the ram and mobo.

mobo = GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H LGA 1155 Intel B75

Ram = 2x gskill sticks labeled as ddr2

ram = 2x2gigs OCZ3G1333LV4GK.NE these sticks labeled as pc3-10600 1.65v 9-9-9-20

For now I'm just trying to get this rig going with these ocz sticks but i'm just having issues. Mobo doesn't have an xmp profile i can find. VTT is greyed out. changed command rate to 2 but bios still shows it as 1 when i go to selection again. timings auto set @ 9-9-9-20. i changed dram v from 1.5 to 1.6. I don't think I can get ram to work on this board.

Why not just try using the exact ram type:
4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory
* Due to Windows 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed will be less than 4 GB.
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR3 2200(OC)/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules
* To support DDR3 1600 MHz, you must install an Intel® 22nm (Ivy Bridge) CPU that supports DDR3 1600 MHz.
Support for non-ECC memory modules
Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules
* To support XMP memory, you must install an Intel® 22nm (Ivy Bridge) CPU that supports DDR3 1600 MHz.

ocz: OCZ low-voltage DDR3 kits are designed specifically for the upcoming Intel® P55 Chipset and subsequent Intel® Core™ i7, i5, and i3 (Socket 1156) processors.

ok mark that helps a bit...

the cpu installed is a sandy i5 so that explains why i dont have an xmp and also why i couldnt change to 800mhz ddr3. I already ordered some replacement ram hopefully will be here the 30th http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231179

2x2gig gskill on order...
DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
Timing 9-9-9-24
Cas Latency 9
Voltage 1.5V – 1.65V

fiddle sticks i only ordered 2x2gigs because i was hoping to pair them with the 2x2gig ocz sticks.

back to the original topic i guess...so i still have these unspecified labeled ddr2 not ddr2 sticks lol
