So recently I may have ran a not-so-trusted program and now every time I log on my computer a Black "cmd" looking window pops up for a millisecond. Any thoughts to what that is and how to remove it?

Solution
ive had it happen after installing ati catalyst control center. hate to tell you but norton isnt all its cracked up to be.ive found avast does a better job for free. try running malwarebytes.scan, get rid of anything it picks up and post a log.just to be sure download and run a scan with hijack this from trend micro.dont fix anything with hijack this yet, just post the scan.may be nothing but better safe than sorry.

I think I may have found the problem. Is it possible that a program running at start-up is causing this? I disabled Netgear's "launchapp" and the window did not seem to pop-up anymore. But after doing that some of my programs seemed to have a difficult time connecting to the internet.

like i said, this might be a legitimate cmd prompt window.i have only two programs enabled at startup and have no problems but you may need to enable this if you have problems with other programs. to be sure i would still do the scans i suggested in my previous post.

run msconfig (via start menu > run), and check the start up tab for anything suspicious. You can disable and re enable the start up apps as you see fit to track down which one is responsible for the cmd window.
