Suspicious email coming from Etsy

Hi guys,
My son alerted me to a suspicious email on his iPad. It claims to have come from some vintage/jewellery company named Etsy. It wanted him to click a link to activate his account. We deleted it and a new email came saying he needs to click the link. I'm pretty sure this is aimed at pcs and would infect them with a virus I.e crypto locker or a Trojan horse. Am I right?

etsy is a website that allows artisans/craftsmen/hobbyists to showcase and sell their creations.

If he did NOT go there and create an account, that email is either:
phishing (likely)
or
Someone else misspelled their email address, and it went to him (almost as likely)

Just delete it.
