I am at my wits end. I had problems with my keyboard which resulted in factory reset. However, even after the factory reset the keyboard popup is not appearing after clicking on a text-field (like password popup for wifi login. Language and > System keyboard setting is not working (shows the menu for half a second and then returns back to general settings). The Keyboard and Input methods menu shows a keyboard named with Chinese characters. Turning it on or off doesn't change the behavior. The inner settings of the keyboard do are in Chinese.
I have tried factory rest + clearing the keyboard app cache. I cannot easily try installing a new keyboard as I cannot gain access to the WiFi without entering password, which I cannot currently do. I do not see the option for sharing PC's connection via USB cable under the Networks... > More menu. OS is Android 5.1 with Flyme 6.1.0.0A.
Any ideas about what I could do short of flashing the OS?
