[citation][nom]utengineer[/nom]Special value is relative to the buyer. You may collect Corvettes while someone else collects comic books. Cost of a unique item like this gains value over time. Hence a good investment. Are far as preying, the item was bid on from $200 to the final value of $400. There was demand from people that want this item. Will it be worth $400 in ten years, IDK. Either way, it is a hobby and provides joy regardless of the expense.[/citation]
I good investment to the buyer, but that's it. You can speak consumer utility all you want, but it's still stupid of the buyer to waste the extra money. It could be better used elsewhere while still having the game itself at $60. Simply put, you could do much more with that money than wasting (not economical) it on a video game package that has no realistic future value or use. The whole US debt issue is because the government spends money on stupid crap (failed investments, war, stimulus bills, etc..), but I digress...
