So I have a 1tb SSD in my laptop and a 256GB SSD in my desktop. I want to swap these two around. Like 1tb to my desktop and the 256gb to the laptop. They are both the boot drives of each system and want to keep the data.
If you swap the drives over, at the very least you will have to reformat & reinstall Windows on both, relevant to each machine. That's just for starters as there may be other complications to deal with.

Desired end point:
Desktop - 1TB SSD
Laptop - 256SSD.
Way ahead:
Copy your critical data from both systems off to some other external drive.
Create a WIn 10 USB install
Swap the physical drives. Do a full wipe and reinstall on each system. Anything less will result in several layers of tears.
