[SOLVED] Swapped ram won't work

i have 2 laptops, one is an asus(1x 4gb ram) the other is a sony(1x 4gb ram), both use ddr3 ram. I wanted to put the ram stick of my sony laptop to my asus laptop since the asus one has a more powerful cpu, but when i put the sony ram stick in to the asus it wont boot which is quite strange since the sony boot perfectly fine, so i decided to swap ram sticks between the asus and the sony and both wont boot and it made me panic, luckily both of my laptops boot back again after i reswap its original ram stick. So why is my laptop only boots with its own ram stick and not the other laptops ram stick? I had never seen this problem before.

It could be different ram types

the Asus uses DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHZ https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/asus/k53sv
Sony appears to use DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz SODIMM https://www.memorystock.com/memory/SonyVAIOPCG71318L.html

its possible the asus can't use 10600 ram. ANd the Sony can't use 12800.

Best off buying a set of 8gb ram if you want 8gb, less chance of weird errors if ram sticks already tested to work together and with laptop
