Swapping out Acer Predator 15 laptop 7200RPM HDD with an SSD.

Would their be a worthwhile gain to swapping out my 7200RPM 2.5 (7mm) HDD in my Acer Predator Laptop with say a 500GB SSD? I know I'd lose so storage but I was thinking the speed increase myight make it worthwhile. Seeing the 7mm SATA III SSDs coming down in price $150 + or - I would do it if 1) it's worth a speed increase and if 2) it would fit the SATA III space the 7200 RPM is now taking up.
Any advice would help. Thanks!

yes, it worth it. if it a 2.5 hdd, it would fit a 2.5 ssd
