swapping out graphics cards

i currently have a 660 ti and i just bought a 780 can i just turn off my computer and swap them out or do i have to do something first and then swap them

I usually uninstall drivers ( add/remove programs...........) shut down. swap cards. reinstall drivers after boot up.

When I did my first build a long time ago that's all I did. But I think I was just lucky as both of mine were both ATI cards. Unistalling drivers would probably help though.
