Swapping SATA ports

Hi

I am going to upgrade the graphics card in my PC.
The mother board is a msi H61M-P31W8 which has 4 sata2 slots.
Only slots 1 & 2 are currently in use however they are positioned in the way of the new graphics card I want to install.
Can I swap the sata slots 1 & 2 into slots 3 & 4 without any problems?

yes you can, just boot into the bios afterwards and make sure the OS drive is setup for first boot. Most likely you wont even have to change anything.


Looking at the board unless the new card is a 3 slot card you shouldnt have any issues with leaving your sata cables in ports 1 and 2.
