Switch Throttling Network

Ran out of available ethernet ports on cisco router so I connected an old linksys router, disabled DCHP and used it as a switch for months, but now whenever I connect it it throttles the entire network from 100mbps to around 10mbps.

I generally interpret this as impossible (entire network), specifically I interpret this, not enough information disclosed to comment further.

stating the obvious, when you have: FASTsegment1 ----- Slow Switch ---- Fastsegment2.

Fastsegment1 will take to everybody in Fastsegment1 full speed, and talks to anybody in Fastsegment2 at reduced speed.
