[SOLVED] switching between 2 microphones on one computer

This may be obvious and dumb, but all I can find searching is the opposite - ie using kvm etc to use one microphone or other usb device on 2+ computers. But, I want to use 2 different microphones on 1 computer - one for voice recog. and one for Skype type calls - completely different mics, and would interfere with each other if connected simultaneously. Just want a switch to turn one off and the other on.... I thought it would be simple but I spent 45 minutes searching around without success....... many thanks for your help.

Run the output to the mic in on the computer using a rca to 3.5mm adapter, turn the level to 0 on whatever you are not using.

Funny every search I did with "2 microphones" and "1 computer" returned the opposite "1 microphone" and "2 computers"..... many thanks!
