Hi everyone! I have a little question for you regarding CPUs and BIOS changes.
I have an Asus p8h61-M LX R2.0 motherboard and have recently bought an Intel Xeon E3-1240 v2. These are these two component's support pages:
www.asus.com
www.intel.com
(You're right, I've seen that the CPU is not on the MoBo's supported list, but I saw that people have tried it and it worked with the specific CPU and since I found it for cheap I thought to give it a try).
My porblem is that I'm not sure if my BIOS will be compatible with the new CPU and I can't find out how to check for it. My current BIOS is "American Megatrends 1101 9/4/2013". I was wondering what should I look for to determine if this motherboard will need a change of BIOS to work with the new CPU? I have tried searching for things like the specific CPU's necessary BIOS but couldn't find anything.
Thank you for any help guys!
