Question switching from 3070 to 4070 gpu

My question is I have a zotac 3070 halo edition that is sitting in my pc, I recently bought a gigabyte 4070 windforce OC . can I just pop out the 3070 while pc is unplugged and put in my 4070 gigabyte WindForce OC in and it be ok? when I went from 1650s to 1070 I just switched em and updated drivers is it the same with these cards as well? I have all latest geforce and nividia drivers. and lastly Im assuming cause I am switching from 16 pin to 8 pin and have been using 8[in with attached daisy 6+2 pin, Can I just use one of those or am I going to have to use a different cable? from what I understand that will provide the card with 150w of power and I will get the rest of the slot its plugged into? im more so worried about the cable being unusable any help would be great sorry if this was answered before.

PCIe is rated for 75W maximum, for 150W and daisy chained/parallel is good enough providing the PSU is good model with thick wires.
As for drivers, it would be best to uninstall drivers using DDU before switching , download and get ready to install newest ones from Nvidia, they just released new control panel for drivers.
