So, I've had an AMD R9 280X from MSI for a couple months now and it has really bad artifacting issues. I've tried everything that I can, but I can't fix it.

I finally got the money and I'm going to buy an MSI GeForce GTX 970 from Nvidia. So my question is: Should I uninstall my old graphics card driver or anything before putting the new one in? Also I have an AMD processor, is this going to have any problems with the Nvidia card?

Yeah, the warranty is long gone for the old card, and I didnt nitice the problems until it was too late. And yeah that graphics card is a little better and all but right now its sold out and when I looked into the artifacting issue for the 280x I found that alot of these new cards are just overclocked versions of the older cards. That makes me a little uneasy as far as spending 300+ dollars goes. Plus with the 970 at least I know thats its a good card and I shouldnt have any problems with it.

I do know that the Nvidia cards are normally overpriced because of the brand so if you can show/tell me something that might convince me otherwise i'd be grateful.

I really dont like overclocking. I feel like if i have to put my card at risk of a heat stroke to perform the way I want it to then I have the wrong card 😛 Just my opinion though. Im looking for the better card, stock settings. No OCing.

Haha your back and forth on me. I guess ill go with the 390 then. Do you have a preferred brand, I normally go with MSI but there XFX (not sure on this one...) or the Sapphire. Leaning more towards the MSI but is there going to be a difference?

yeah the MSI one seems like the best brand for me but the Sapphire card has 3 fans instead of 2. Not sure.
