How's it goin guys! So I originally bought a Sapphire Radeon GPU and I bought an EVGA GeForce GPU that is going to be delivered to me in the next couple hours. I know they say that when switching from an AMD to a Nvidia GPU you should get rid of the previous GPU's software. So I'm wondering if you all know how to do that on a windows 8 and if I should do it before or after putting my new GPU in. Cause I'm actually switching all my components into a new tower also so I don't know if I should worry about getting rid of the old GPU software before or after I transfer everything to the new tower! Thanks Everyone!

Solution
You can uninstall the amd software. That should be sufficient.
Your graphics will run in default low res mode(something like 960 x 480) without any driver at all.
So will your new card until you install the nvidia graphics drivers.
Some will suggest a driver cleaner, and that can't hurt, but I think not entirely necessary.
If you run into any issues, clean everything and start over.

As to GeForce experience suggestion above, I do not.
It adds an extra bit of checking overhead.
I update directly from the nvidia web site on my own scheduled time and with adequate checkpoint safeguards.

Not cleaning drivers can result in graphical idiosyncrasies. This may resut in the frequent crashing of games and potential BSOD as many unique registry entries can be created by various programs throughout the lifetime of using an AMD/Nvidia card. That is why it is best to wipe once and not have to worry about troubleshooting. I suggested Geforce Experience because it is advantageous to non 'power' users. Features like shadowplay and optimization are also useful. You can always rollback drivers.

Are these sites safe to use? I dont have anti virus on my computer. I just use sites i trust. I'm too cheap right now.

Also is it necessary to download those things to wipe my computer? Can I not just wipe the AMD Catalyst Install Manager, and the Installshield Wizard? I've only had the thing for a couple months now, so not many entries should have been added in that amount of time.

Yep, first link is Guru3d, a tech review site. Second is Nvidia website. Check out AVG Free or Avast! Free for antivirus. I've never had a virus issue with AVG Free.
