I cleaned install windows to a new ssd 500gb.

and i am planning on using my old HDD 2tb as a 2nd drive, how do i remove the OS on the hdd?

Confirm that you can boot from the new drive when the old drive is disconnected.

Shut down.

Re-connect the old drive.

Boot the PC, which will be from the new drive

Open Windows Disk Management and locate the old drive in it.

Using menus in Disk Management, delete whatever partitions from the old drive that you want to get rid of...maybe all of the partitions if there is nothing on the old drive that you want to keep.

Make new partitions on the old drive as necessary...1 or more, whatever you want.

That's one method.

thanks, I got the ssd working, problem is the hdd cant be detected.

Try a different SATA port.

Is the new drive an M.2 2280 NVME or a 2.5 inch SATA or what exactly?

Try a different SATA cable.

Can it be seen in the BIOS?

it works now, i just restarted the pc and did what you told. thanks thanks. the new ssd is nvme..
