I have Sylvania 6420 FF 20 inch TV - we purchased it from Sears in 2005. The picture on the screen is too big. I was on the phone with DirecTV for several hours we finally determined that the problem was with the TV. The picture is also too big when it is hooked up to the DVD player which does not run to the cable box so I know it's a problem with the TV. There is no zoom button on the remote control that I can find. Is there some way I can fix this? is there something I am missing?

You don't mention how you are connecting the DTV box or DVD. Assuming you plug them into the front av input on the TV there are two options. First is to make sure that the DTV box and DVD are set to 4:3 aspect ratio. They may default to 16:9 which is HD widescreen. The other possibility is that your TV is overscanning the picture. This would require a tech to adjust inside the set.
Unless you can find someone to do this at a low price it may be time to get a new set with HDMI that will give you a much better picture.
