System Build for Gaming Critique

This is my first Gaming and School PC build for around $1,000 US. The only things missing are the OS (I have a Windows 7 CD, will upgrade to Windows 10), and peripherals (which I will get elsewhere).

Things I'm not sure of: Will I need a separate fan? Compatibility issues? I know nothing about motherboards so suggestions on those would be nice.

Do a 2x8gb kit, for your ram. Quad channel DDR3 kits are for X79 builds. CX 600 is not a very good PSU, and definitely not suitable for your build. Your build included mail in rebates, mine doesn't.

For the cost, that PSU is a great buy, hence my choice. You are going to be paying more, for a lesser wattage PSU, of similar quality. That board is ok, but the H97 pro4 has a bit better audio setup, and better Lan chipset. The full atx version, of that gigabyte board, would be a good alternative though.
