This is my first Gaming and School PC build for around $1,000 US. The only things missing are the OS (I have a Windows 7 CD, will upgrade to Windows 10), and peripherals (which I will get elsewhere).

Things I'm not sure of: Will I need a separate fan? Compatibility issues? I know nothing about motherboards so suggestions on those would be nice.

Please critique and give suggestions. Thanks!

Do a 2x8gb kit, for your ram. Quad channel DDR3 kits are for X79 builds. CX 600 is not a very good PSU, and definitely not suitable for your build. Your build included mail in rebates, mine doesn't.

Thanks for the response! Is 750W necessary for the build (I do know that the R9 390 is a power suck). What about the mobo, I was thinking this instead: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gah97md3h

How's this? (does include rebates, which I'm fine with)
