Been having this issue for about 6 months, many applications seem to crash randomly and the event viewer tells me its exception code 0xc0000005 which is a STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION. I've checked my ram using MEMTEST86 and I've tried checking drives but no issues found also reinstalled windows a number of times so its probably hardware related I'm guessing.

Tried this?

right click start button

choose powershell (admin)

copy/paste this command into window:

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

and press enter

Then type SFC /scannow

and press enter

Restart PC if SFC fixes any files as some fixes require a restart to be implemented

First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files

SFC = System File Checker. First command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/what-is-dism?view=windows-11

What are specs of the PC?

Specs are CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x GPU: Rx 6750 xt Ram: Klevv Cras 2x8gb 4000zhz and a Toshiba 256gb NVMe ssd.

Windows image repair said this:
Path :
Online : True
ImageHealthState : Healthy
RestartNeeded : False

Sfc said no issues found

I've tried underclocking the ram and I've tried different ram still no luck. Could it be storage related? I know that the status access violation is when the system tries to find data in the ram that either isn't there due to being deleted or moved but I don't know. Ram I tried was a ballistix 2x8 kit not sure what speed.

Application Error 0xc0000005 (Access Violation) error is usually caused by your computer not being able to correctly process the files and settings required to run a particular program or installation. Despite the error showing when you try and use particular pieces of software, it has many different causes including faulty RAM problems, errors with the files of your PC and issues with the settings of your PC.

its not so much its not in ram, its that it can't run the files.
if you reinstalled a few times, and SFC didn't help, it is likely to be hardware.

what other ram did you try?

have latest bios?

I'll try the bios update, last time i updated that was when I got the cpu when it came out. Also ram i used for other test was a Ballistix 2x8gb kit not sure on speed though.

Did the bios update, games lasted a bit longer than before but then did the same and crashed straight to desktop no error and if I check reliability monitor its still the same status_access_violation.

You could look in system information app
on left hand side, click + sign next to Software environment
click on Windows Error reporting
it might take a while to fill, depends last time you installed windows.
have a look at day/time it crashed and see if its shows anything like Pre Radar or Bex errors

try running A520M update if you haven't since updating BIOS as it might help

CTD with no BSOD isn't a driver error.

Is it always same game or different ones?
