System crashes when copying large files

I have noticed that whenever i copy files that are large 700 megs or so the system hangs..

I have a western dig 40 gig ata100 and a Asus a7v133 board

Any help?

How old is your sys and how much ram?,

System is 1 week old and 256 megs of pc133 ram

I have heard from a software vendor that there are problems with the a7v Promise controller and large file copies. I don't know if the a7v133 also uses the Promise controller, but if it does, there may be a link.
