Welcome
I've got a problem. Recently I've bought a new Abit VT7 motherboard. After I've changed to that motherboard, system failed to boot. I've checked my power supply (Chieftec 360-202-DF), my hard disk (Maxtor 40GB) and my graphics card (Radeon 9500) and my RAM (Kingston 256Mb/400MHZ)- they all work. Then I've switched back to my older VIA motherboard, but with no effect - the motherboard is powered, the fans work, but nothing is displayed on the screen. Does this mean that the processor broke down?
I'll appreciate your help
Thanks
Chris

Pretty tough to tell... so you say the old setup is now dead as well? It would be unusual for an Intel processor to just die like that. Did you check to see if you bent any pins? I suppose you could have had a static electricity discharge while you were handling the processor or something...

About all you can do is double check all connections and keep replacing parts till you figure out what failed.

Three things people often overlook
1) Accidentally the back of the MB to the case.
2) Not clearing the CMOS when the system won't boot.
3) Not connecting the HS Fan to the proper connector.

Also disconnect as much as possible when testing, so disconnect all drives, all cards except Video, any USB headers etc .. until after the system POSTS.

ANY device if defective or not properly inserted can cause a failure.

You also could have a grounding problem or a short when installing board, and again when putting old one back.
Check carefully connections.
