System forgets ram amount

Hi,

Please can someone help me.

I have 16GB ram (DDR4) installed on my Rampage V Extreme.
My system starts to malfunction occasionally (hang / crash etc) and every time I notice Windows 10 doesn't see all my RAM.

I have even had it it before where its forgotten 12GB of the 16 and runs on 4GB.

Its happened 3 times over a 6 month period... the last two times being in the last 6 weeks (so I would assume its happening regularly I just haven't noticed as I don't religiously check my RAM amount in Control Panel)

Why would the system keep happening?

I have performed RAM Checker and no problem with the RAM....

What CPU, PSU and model # of the DRAM?

4 sticks ram. I have removed 3 stocks and booted, system sees 4gb. I then replace the 3 sticks, system sees 16GB. .. I have also mixed the sticks up... I'm confident the ram is ok.

cpu: i7 5960x
ram: Kingston hyper x ddr4 2400mhz
Psu: EVGA 1300W

additionally if I don't remove the sticks, boot then replace the sticks... the system won't see all 16GB. .. literally it just doesn't see all the ram randomly.. I have noticed sometimes the system doesn't shut down (screens go off but tower remains on) so have to perform power press and hold.. the next day I was playing my usual games (usually hours on end without crashes) but this time the day after could barely play anything which prompted me to check the ram..

no, bought from same retailer at the same time

They might not want to play, even if same exact model number (see items 6 and 2

Try raising DRAM voltage + 0.05
