Hi there,

Last night the programmes on my PC all froze a couple of times. Each time it lasted for about 3 minutes, then they started working again. The first time it was when I was trying to open a web page. The second time it happened when I pressed the home button. When I checked Event Viewer it gave the following readings under ESENT 533, 508 and 510;

taskhostw (5560,D,0) WebCacheLocal: A request to write to the file "C:\Users\Decipher\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\WebCacheV01.jfm" at offset 8192 (0x0000000000002000) for 8192 (0x00002000) bytes has not completed for 36 second(s). This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

I've already run Check Disk and Windows Memory Diagnostic and they reported no problems.

Are there any further tests I can carry out to identify what has caused this and how to prevent it? Thanks for any help.

Hello

Can you please check if any updated version of your default web browser is available?

Also, please check if any Windows updates are available.

If this doesn't help, please check for graphics driver updates.

Since CHKDSK and Windows Memory Diagnostic didn't come up with any errors, and after trying the solutions given above, if the issue still persists, please try Running the SFC /SCANNOW Command and see if it does the trick.

Please report back with the results for any further assistance.

Cheers!!

Thank you for the response. I followed your instructions and ran the SFC / SCANNOW. It came back as “Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.”
