System frrezing if i use internet

I have a old PC with 1GB RAM and Pentium DualCOre processor. I use my PC mostly for Internet browsing, Watching movies and listening to music. Its hangs if i use internet especially Facebook. I'm using windows8 operating system.
Could you please help me out with a solution?

That system is to old for Windows 8, I'd go back down to 7 if possible.

It's most likely a plug in. Try using Internet Explorer for a bit. I find the most recent releases of Firefox have been a little buggy.

Yeah even i feel my system is too old for Win8 but i had this problem with win7 also. No matter what ever the browser i get the same problem.

Could be an issue with the RAM or the videocard. Might want to want to run memtest86
