System is duplicating files in strange directories

I'm absolutely purplexed. I noticed that my SSD was too full for what I have downloaded. I then notice that I had 66 GB of temporary files, that was definitely a shocker. I checked all boxes and clicked "Remove Files." and i'm left with this

After quick googling, I tried to do the manual deletion of all temp files through appdata/local/temp. Still the same 66GB temp file shown.

(This is what all three of the temp file locations I deleted look like)

Alright, so lets do CC cleaner. Download and fire up CCcleaner, removes a few things that all my attempts of using built-in windows tools failed to get, but still I'm left with this overwhelmingly huge temp file that is undeletable.

Frustrated at this point in time, I go through every option in Ccleaner to see if I missed anything, and I come duplicate finder and run it. Bingo, I think I found the problem!

As you can see from the scrollbar, these items go on forever.

The thing is, everything seems to be duplicated upon creation at the same time, and 90% of them are in the same file directory.
I open the file location of two files with the same name/path thinking I could follow the directory up to find the culprit.

Everything I do creates the exact same file in the parent directory.

How should I go about fixing this for everything installed on my computer, and what can I do about finding out why this is happening?

*edit:

Upon further examination, it's not always parent/child folders, as seen here

Hi chaseman, welcome to TH.

66 GB is huge for temporary files. It's possible that Windows is incorrectly reporting that number. (It's wrong on the Recycle Bin, we know that). We can look deeper to find out.

I would ignore the results from CCleaner. It's common for programs to install the same file to different locations, particularly DLL files. They are often different versions of DLL files, sometimes the same. My system has the same CCleaner results, a huge list. I wouldn't delete any of those files. If you do, you may find your software quits working.

The ESEADriver2.sys is only taking up 3 MB so its probably not the problem. I would do a [Malwarebytes] scan just in case. Download the free version and do a full scan...

Consider downloading one of these programs that will analyze your system and show you the largest files/folders. A free program that I once used was called [RidNacs] and it works fine. Using this utility may allow you to discover where the temporary files are located (if they are actually there) and then you can open the folders and see what the files are.

If RidNacs doesn't show any 66GB folder (or larger), then it's likely that Windows is incorrectly reporting the temporary files.

If you find the files but can't tell what they are, provide screen shots here so we can investigate further. To place a screen shot here on the forums, take the picture on your computer and upload it to a site such as [Postimage] then post a link to it here in the forums.
