System is overheating

So Like I said i need some serious help. I've recently got an ASUS crosshair V formula Z, amd fx9370, and gskill sniper 16gb ram from a friend who is switching to a mini itx build. These all worked perfectly on his build and what not but Since we have switched them over to my build (which is basically the same except I have Dual GTX980's) Its doing everything from bsod to freezing. My buddy is a pretty tech smart dude and it took him awhile but hes came to the conclusion that the northbridge is overheating on the mobo because its 60c at idle temp. He had to disable cores 4,5,6, and 7 to get it to work as it'll only not overheat if its 4 cores. Can someone please help as we are completely befuddled as to why.

H100i is actually a good cooler, it should decently cool that monster (45-50 C on idle, 80 C tops at full speed).

Double check if the waterblock is properly seated onto the CPU (check if you didn't overtight the screws and caused the CPU retention system to crack). Check if the pump is properly connected and is working (you should see in Corsair software its rotational speed; also, you should hear a humm coming from the CPU socket). If all seems in working order, check the temperature of the tubing and the radiator (if they are cold, the pump is not working -broken or not connected-; if the tubing is hot and the radiator is cold, there is a problem with the liquid/radiator).

As for the northbridge temperature...

Aside from the need of the last BIOS version installed, I give you a quote from the official CPU support page:

"Due to the high TDP, please be noted there are limitations while using this CPU(i.e. special thermal required..)"

So, as asked before, what CPU cooler do you have? There chips have 220W TDP, so a very good liquid cooler is a must.

As for the northbridge temperature: ASUS had the "brilliant " idea to use the same heatsink for both the NB and the VRM. The use of the stock coolers is OK (air passes through the cooler and is evacuated through the VRM-NB heatsink), but an aftermarket cooler don't properly cool the CPU surroundings (the problem is exacerbated with liquid coolers, which generates little to no airflow in the CPU area). Try to use an additional fan blowing air towards the VRM heatsink.
 
Solution
I completely agree with Cristi72,check if you have properly placed the waterblocks and try to re-seat the cooler again.
No queries with the Mobo. Have you applied the thermal paste recently?? Is it of Arctic silver's or some others? Is the CPU O.C'ed or at stock?
 


Ended up just being a super hot sytem and a motherboard that had to be RMAd, Switching to Intel I've had enough of AMD. lol.
