First and foremost, here is my system specs:

CPU: i7 8700k (stock)
RAM: 16 Gigs DDR4 2400 MHz
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Gaming-E
GPU: GTX 1080 Ti
Storage: 512G M.2., 2TB SSHD Firecuda

Recently I have reinstalled windows, before I had 2 OS's installed and just wanted 1 now, and I deleted everything on the disk when I was installing the OS on the M.2. The installation went smoothly without any problems. I recently bought a 2TB Firecuda SSHD so that I may install my games on. The problem that I am having is that my pc is super slow and has never been this slow before. My applications will work sometimes, but mostly will freeze up my computer. The OS is installed on my M.2. and the SSHD is used only for games and video records. I have tried to change stuff in the bios to AHCI and that didn't really work. I've updated everything, but I'm not sure what is going on.

If anyone could help me, I would be so grateful.

Remsee,

You have probably already resolved this issue, but posting in case it may help someone else.

1. You did not state if you have a z370-E or z390-E, but if you look at the specs for the z390-E on newegg there is a note under M.2:

Z390-E
* When the M.2_1 Socket 3 is operating in PCIe 3.0 x4 mode, SATA port 1 and 2 will be disabled. When it operates in SATA mode, SATA port 2 will be disable.

Z370-E
* The M.2_1 socket shares SATA_1 port when use M.2 SATA mode device. Adjust BIOS settings to use a SATA device.
** The M.2_2 socket shares SATA_56 ports when use M.2 PCIE mode device in X4 mode. Adjust BIOS settings to use SATA devices.

Which SATA port is the Firecuda plugged in to?

2. You also could help determine the issue by disconnecting the second drive (Firecuda) completely, to see if the problem persists.
