Question System Latency after Installing an M.2 SSD ?

After fixing a few (seemingly unrelated) problems with my system, I installed a Samsung 970 Plus M.2 SSD as my main OS drive. After this, a new set of problems arose, and I’m wondering if they are a direct result.

My boot time has risen from about 20 seconds to over a minute . My mouse stutters and lags. I do a lot of audio editing, and I’m getting pops and clicks in my processes.

I have the latest BIOS update.

I bought a new wireless mouse and keyboard. This eliminated some of the lagging, but not completely.

I updated my GPU drivers. No improvement. In fact, Latencymon counts my GPU driver as the highest interrupt.

Could there be a causal relationship between the new SSD and my issues, or do I need to look somewhere else?

Thanks.

OK, no replies, but here is an update.

Changing my Power Settings from "Balanced" to "Performance" seems to have resolved the issues with LatencyMon.

I just got off the chat with Logitech, who sent me to a firmware update. My mouse and keyboard are now listed on Device Manager (they weren't before), so maybe that will fix the lag/freeze issues.

Now I need to reboot and see if it speeds up at all. (Not expecting much on THAT.)

Have you run any benchmarks on the SSD to make sure it's behaving as expected?

CrystalDiskMark is a simple one which should give a basic idea. I doubt you're using SATA Express, but that and the M.2 slot can interfere with one another.
I did. I ran it through Crystal Disk and Samsung Magician when I first got it, and I ran it again a couple days ago. Everything looked good both times. After my work on it last night, everything seems to be functioning a lot more smoothly today. I'll be monitoring it closely for the next few days. Thanks for your input.
