Hi everyone. Earlier I was playing Witcher 3, then I paused for like 5 mins while I was watching videos on my phone then suddenly the system restarted out of nowhere. I did not see any blue screen at all.
This is the message I found on Event Viewer: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffe0015414c028, 0x00000000b6004000, 0x00000000a8000135). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 010416-8796-01."
TAKE NOTE, I ALWAYS monitor my temps during gaming and also while browsing. While playing games CPU temps don't go above 59C. They stay around 55-58C when playing games or when stress testing using Prime95. CPU's OC'd to 3.8ghz, using a Phenom II X4 955BE with a custom heatsink. I have been stress testing this for days, all the while not receiving any errors on Prime95, so I was surprised to see the system restarted by itself.

Solution

If it doesn't happen frequently (as in less than once/month or so) and/or happens just while playing Witcher 3 (it could be a bug in the game/GPU driver), I wouldn't be at all concerned.
Another potential cause could be your PSU not being able to deliver enough power to both your CPU and GPU at the same time when under heavy load; this can also cause system instability.
Finally, it could be as simple as a very short power surge/cut that did it, even if your microwave/TV weren't affected your PC will be much more sensitive to such things.

GPU maybe? Could also be a RAM issue. Nothing to worry about unless it starts happening more often. Consoles can crash too after all.

Thanks for the reply. I am just worried because upon searching around different forums, some said that this was due to heat and was a CPU problem. You think this is just a minor hiccup?
